The Red Door Animal Shelter is a multi-species, no-kill shelter that helps cats, rabbits, and dogs. The shelter opened its doors in January, 2000, and in its first year, it came to the aid of over 300 animals in crisis-- particularly those animals whose injuries, age, temperament, or illness either denies them admission or predisposes them to euthanasia at other humane agencies. Red Door is one of only five no-kill animal shelters in the U.S. who take in rabbits, neuter them, and place them for adoption. Red Door is a not-for-profit, 501 (3)(c) organization. It receives no federal, state, or city money. It is funded by private donations and grants from private foundations. Adoption hours: Monday and Wednesday 12-7 and Thursday - Sunday and Tuesday 12-4. Please arrive one hour in advance of closing time. Appointments are highly recommended.
