The Cher Show has begun its pre-Broadway try-out in Chicago (now playing at Broadway in Chicago's Oriental Theater). The musical is as dynamic and over-the-top as the legendary diva whose story it tells.

Here are 5 things to look for in this can’t miss extravaganza:

That feeling when you stare at ten of Cher's Bob Mackie outfits on stage at the same time...

The Bob Mackie outfits! How could you ever mention Cher without thinking of the fashion from the legendary designer? Michael Berresse is a scene stealer as Mackie, who along with some of his most memorable Cher designs make recurring appearances throughout the show.

Three Chers. Yes, three legendary Chers.

The amazing performances of Micaela Diamond (who is making her professional debut!), Teal Wicks and Broadway star Stephanie J. Block who bring Cher to life on stage as Babe, Lady and Star respectively. Each transform into the Cher of a time and guides the story, while at the same time portraying the proverbial angel/devil on the shoulder as the legends tale unfolds.

Cher’s mother, played by Emily Skinner

Emily Skinner’s portrayal (and genius casting) of Cher’s mother, Georgia Holt. Emily’s powerful voice is perfect as she dishes out motherly advice and love throughout the story in comedy and song as only Cher’s mom could.

Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman duke it out - musical stage style

The onstage showdown between Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman for Cher’s affections. The iconic Dark Lady is a clever overlay for their efforts to win over Cher.

Every Cher song has a perfect place in the show

The music. Cher’s first hit came in 1965 and she has topped the charts in every decade since, reinventing herself over and over to remain relevant to her ever-expanding fanbase. The Cher Show lets her musical catalogue tell her story.
