International DJ Karl Kay, one of the trendiest DJs at the moment in the Parisian clubbing scene, makes his Chicago debut Memorial Day Weekend at Roscoe’s in Boystown.
As an electronic music lover, Karl has always been passionate about house music. Deeply inspired by the South American culture, he decided to dedicate his own music to that particular vocal and tribal house sound.
Karl has a residency at the popular Parisian parties “Scream” and “The Grand Hotel“ and is performing in the hottest gay clubs in France. He is a rising international artist.

First, describe your sound in a sentence or two.
"It’s a mix of energy, happiness and emotion. I want people to smile when they dance, always with a good energy."

Is this your first time in Chicago?
"It’s my first time as DJ, but I visited few years ago and loved it. I remember I had drinks in Boystown and I loved the energy."

What can the Roscoe’s crowd expect from you?
"A great moment of fun, with many classic hits remixed."

Who’s blowing your mind in music these days?
"I’m a fan of Kylie Minogue. Always so cute, nice and classy. In the DJ scene, I’m a big fan of the new Brazilian producers. They have the rhythm in them and their music drives me crazy."

If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be?
"Kylie Minogue. It would be a dream for me."

Who are your influences?
"I love Antoine, Clamaran or Chus and Cebalos for the rhythm and percussion sound. In the gay scene, I grew up with the remixes of Tony Moran."

Single, married or dating?
"Single and happy to be."

How do you keep your body so tight?
"A lot of gym, a good diet and a bit of Photoshop. (laughs)"

What do you find most attractive in a man?
"The smile."

"Traveling and spending time with my friends."
