Elmhurst Holiday Inn names in anti-gay harrassment suit

The Holiday Inn in west suburban Elmhurst has been named in a discrimination and sexual harassment lawsuit brought by two male employees. The suit claims a male supervising manager physically and verbally harassed them as well as making lewd remarks and his exposing his genitals, according to a report in the Windy City Times.
Hernan Cortes began working for Holiday Inn in 2006 but says things changed in August 2009, when he alleges his new male supervising manager began sexually harassing him.
The second employee, Dan Kosman, began working for the hotel in June 2009. He says the same supervisor began harassing him as well.
"I'd walk by and he'd pinch my butt," Kosman told WCT. "I'd be by the filing cabinet, bending over, and he'd come over and bump me purposely. He also alleges the supervisor exposed his penis to him.
Kosman sought the advice of Lambda Legal, an organization that offers legal assistance to the LGBT community, in December. Lambda referred Kosman to his current lawyer, Betty Tsamis.
After Kosman began looking for legal assistance, Cortes joined him.
The hotel, which is run by The Bricton Group located in Park Ridge, Ill., has not responded to the complaint nor calls by the Windy City Times. Holiday Inn's corporate officials refused comment.
