Northalsted Market Days, Aug. 11 - 12, is next for organizers

Chicago, IL - Northalsted Business Alliance ushered in Pride Month with Chicago Pride Fest 2018 this past weekend in Boystown, featuring a full line-up of non-stop entertainment, delicious food, endless shopping and plenty of people-watching.

International R&B idol Mýa closed out the two-day street festival on Sunday night. She told ChicagoPride.com her performance was anchored around a simple message: "be true to who you are, empower each other, be there for each other, and live life to the fullest."

Additional performers included Chicago-native Carlito Olivero, Frenchie Davis, Kim English, Blake Lewis, Brian Justin Crumb, and iconic diva Belinda Carlisle.

"I believe in equal rights for everyone and that means everyone. Even if I didn't have a gay son I probably would be involved," Carlisle told ChicagoPride.com.

Local favorites include Cat Fight, One Night Band, Abba Salute, Boy Band Review, and 16 Candles.

In addition to the 3 entertainment stages, the festival featured food and drink, over 100 arts/craft and merchant vendors, DJs and dancing, drag shows and more.

Chicago Pride Fest, scheduled the weekend prior to the annual Chicago Pride Parade, is organized by and benefits the Northalsted Business Alliance, the organization behind Northalsted Market Days, Frost Fest and the Halloween Parade.

The 2018 Chicago Pride Parade is scheduled for Sunday, June 24 starting at noon.
