Chicago Police continue investigation into the violent attack in Boystown last Monday

Chicago, IL - There could be a break in the string of muggings in Lincoln Park and Lakeview as Chicago Police question a man considered a "person of interest" in connection with those violent muggings.

A 25-year-old man from Chicago's West Side is being questioned by Belmont Area detectives after a member of the public recognized the suspect from a sketch police released last week.

The man, whom police were not identifying because he had not been charged, was arrested yesterday morning at his home.

The victim of one violent attack in the 2000 block of North Cleveland Avenue, which took place on Aug. 1 about 3 a.m., has identified the man in a lineup according to ChicagoBreakingNews.com.

The Cleveland Avenue robbery is one of four that police have linked as likely the work of the same group of men. Those and other muggings in several North Side neighborhoods, including Boystown, since the beginning of August have put police on alert and the neighborhoods on edge.

Previously, police have told ChicagoPride.com that the violent attack in Boystown last Monday morning at Halsted and Buckingham was unrelated to the Lincoln Park attacks. Police continue their investigation into that violent attack.
