r&b diva deborah cox returns to headline market days 2016
Northalsted Market Days, Aug. 13-14 in Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood
The Midwest's largest street festival is back as Northalsted Market Days 2016 takes over Boystown with some of the biggest parties and performances in Chicago this weekend.
Nearly 180,000 people will descend on the six blocks of North Halsted between Addison and Belmont to browse the unique vendors, eat, drink and dance to a variety of different musical acts playing on four entertainment stages throughout the day.
R&B diva Deborah Cox returns to headline the festival, while pop singer and Warner Bros. recording artist Jake Miller makes his Market Days debut. An up-and-coming musician, Miller is about to explode. His new EP titled Overnight dropped on August 5 and he just started touring with mega-girl-group Fifth Harmony. In addition, Alex Newell from Glee fame brings his dance-pop to the stage.
Also in the mix are newcomers and Chicago mainstays – like 16 Candles, Catfight, Wedding Banned and The Gingers – all split between two days and four stages. You'll find the full lineup below.
"Market Days draws a national and international crowd to Boystown every year," said Christopher Barrett Politan, executive director of the Northalsted Business Alliance. "We look forward to welcome revelers for a weekend of great fun, terrific entertainment and celebration of the tremendous businesses that help create our iconic neighborhood."
The 35th annual Northalsted Market Days festival takes place on Aug. 13-14 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The event runs down Halsted Street from Belmont to Addison. A $10 suggested donation is requested at the entrance. ChicagoPride.com is a proud media sponsor.
