Jennifer Lopez and Lin-Manuel Miranda on Friday released a collaborative song on iTunes to honor the 49 people killed and dozens injured in a mass shooting last month at a gay nightclub in Orlando.
All proceeds from Love Make the World Go Round will benefit the Hispanic Federation's Proyecto Somos Orlando, which, according to the group's website, will "provide bilingual culturally-competent social services to impacted families and the broader community."
According to EOnline.com, Miranda, who is best known for writing and starring in the Broadway musical Hamilton, wrote the song.
In releasing a preview of the song on Instagram, Lopez said that she and Miranda were "working in studio on something very special."
"We talked a lot about love counteracting hate and fear and how art can play a role in that effort," Miranda said about the creative process during an iHeartRadio Twitter Q&A.
Lopez and Miranda are scheduled to perform the song live Monday, July 11 on NBC's Today.
