Chigaygo at Laugh Factory Chicago presents a benefit performance for The Center in Orlando
Chicago, IL -
Chigaygo, Laugh Factory Chicago's premiere queer comedy showcase, is presenting a special one-night only event to raise money for The Center Orlando, the LGBT center providing victim relief in the wake of the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub.
Laugh Factory and its owner, Jamie Masada, have a long-standing history of philanthropic engagement in the community.
Chigaygo is now in its third year at Laugh Factory Chicago, and has featured the brightest and best LGBTQ comics and their allies from Chicago and across the country. Hosted by actor/comedian and professional gay Scott Duff (OUT CHICAGO, Laugh Factory, About Face Theatre), the evening features some of the biggest names in the Chicago comedy scene: Gwen LaRoka, Natalie Jose, Martin Morrow, Seth Davis and more to be announced.
"Seth Davis approached me with the idea of producing a benefit comedy show for the survivors and families of the victims of this horrible tragedy," said Duff. "It seemed like a natural fit to combine efforts with Chigaygo and Laugh Factory, who consistently features diverse perspectives and provides a platform for often disenfranchised voices. It's our opportunity to send love and support to our brothers and sisters in Orlando."
Doors open at 7 p.m.; the show starts at 8 p.m on Thursday, July 7. It's first-come-first-serve seating, and you never know what surprises might show up. So bring your family and your friends (queer or straight) for an unforgettable night of laughter for a cause.
Laugh Factory Chicago is located 3175 N. Broadway at Broadway and Belmont in Lakeview. All shows are 18 and over. For details and reservations please go to www.LaughFactory.com or call (773) 327-3175.
