Governor: Marriage should be a union between a man and a woman.

Chicago, IL - Governor Rod Blagojevich has weighed-in on the growing debate over gay marriages. On Monday, Blagojevich said while he supports domestic partnership agreements between gay couples, he also supports Illinois law that states a marriage is a union between a man and a woman and not between same sex couples.

Blagojevich says his overall commitment to gay rights has not changed. He opposes discrimination against homosexuals and supports state benefits for gay and lesbian partners. The Governor also supports adoptions by gay couples.
