Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) has picked the Clybourn Corridor for its next Chicago store according to ChicagoBusiness.com.
The California-based electronics maker has reportedly agreed last week to open a signature store on a former gas station site bounded by North and Clybourn avenues and Halsted Street.
Sources tell Crain's Chicago Business that Apple plans to build a roughly 15,000-square-foot store, designed by the San Francisco office of architectural firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. The firm designed Apple's "glass cube" store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and its 25,000-square-foot outlet at 679 N. Michigan Ave., which opened in 2003.
This 33-year-old company continues to dominate the consumer market spaces it competes in and continues to perform well in this recession.
