A Texas gay couple were surprised when singer Jennifer Hudson performed at their wedding ceremony.
Chris and Scott Lindsey exchanged vows on Wednesday, July 7 in Dallas as part of the W Hotels and the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) marriage equality initiative called TURN IT UP FOR CHANGE.
The Lindseys, together 14 years, said in a video that they met online.
"We both had kids," Chris Lindsey said. "So, that was a very big thing that brought us together."
"This is a special union, because they helped fight for those rights," Hudson said, a reference to the couple's involvement with HRC.
After the men were pronounced married, a curtain dropped and Hudson appeared.
She performed her gay marriage anthem I Still Love You for the couple and their guests.
"Jennifer Hudson was the cherry on top," Scott Lindsey said. "But the most important thing about today was that our four kids were sitting right there."
