LKH Management sheds light on the Prohibition-era bar to come, plus details on Manhole's return

What was formerly Spin – and then Whiskey Trust for a brief moment – will officially become a 1920s cocktail lounge next week, bringing Prohibition-era beverages to Boystown.
Collin Wood, General manager of Manhole and The Den Cocktail Bar shares details with ChicagoPride.com. "The Den evokes the feel of a 1920s men's social bar with prohibition era cocktails crafted by Elixir mixologist Vlad Novikov. The re-concept is an inviting lounge that expands our customer demographic."
LKH Management, whose team resumed oversight of the space at 3200 N. Halsted St., expands its offerings with a revamp of The Den and re-opening of Manhole. Both will open on Thursday, May 14.
The team at LKH, along with building owner David Gassman, have worked to bring the iconic Boystown corner back to life after an unsuccessful run by Whiskey Trust and Chloe's owners Jason Zilberbrand and Jordan Zabinger. Gassman reacquired the building, which previously housed Spin Nightclub, in December.
LKH Managing Partner Sean Kotwa first confirmed with ChicagoPride.com on March 10 about the grand return of Manhole with plans to overhaul the nightclub's programming and ensure the venue is a success.
Wood also tells ChicagoPride.com a new retail component will complete the space. As part of Manhole, Full Kit Gear will come aboard with a 'pop up' style shop on premise that complements the club's 'Gear On' policy.
"We will feature a sampling of our sport, leather and rubber fetish collections and look forward to having another venue for our community," said Eric Alden, Full Kit Gear Chicago General Manager
Both Manhole and The Den will open to the public on Thursday, May 14. An invite only VIP event is set at The Den from 7pm-9pm before opening to the public at 9pm. Those interested in attending the VIP reception may register at www.thedenlakeview.com.

Update: The Den Cocktail bar opening has been delayed according to a May 13 statement from LKH Management, "Due to an unexpected delay with a supplier, The Den Cocktail Bar (3200 North Halsted) will not open as planned tomorrow, Thursday, May 14. We value a first impression and are simply not quite ready for our close up just yet. We are confident the issue will be resolved and we will open The Den next week. At this time, we look forward to welcoming guests to Manhole this weekend."
