Drama on the Dance Floor

Chicago, IL - Queens love Deborah Cox, don't we? We also love Hex Hector. But believe it or not it's re-mixers Gabriel & Dresden that give her new track "Play the Part" the boy anthem feel this time around. Other re-mixes are by …….. Also on J records is Monica's "" with salt and pepper by Scumfrog. They don't accent the vocals and concentrate more on the music in Monica's tune which makes for a way cute re-did. It's all about J-Lo isn't it? "I'm Real" "I'm Alive" and now "I'm Glad". Re-mixes by Murk are the ones to listen to, but also watch for re-duces by Ford. Seems Ricky Martin is trying a new marketing ploy by releasing his remake of Dan Hartman's "Relight My Fire" under the moniker "Martin, featuring Lolita Holloway". Whatever Ricky calls himself is fine with me, because it is H2Q who deliver the dub mix that is tearing up dance floors right now. Becky Baeling's latest "Getaway" which we previously reviewed now has a set of mixes by Thick Dick that are commercially available. Also from the house of Dick are his mixes of Tatu's
"Not Gonna Get Us" on Interscope.
House-heads will be living for Testament's "We Need Love" on Soulgroove records. Gorilla delivers 2 mixes that are all the house you can handle.
Deep Dish and Yoshitoshi together are seriously hyping their new CD "Deep Dish Toronto". (See reviews) Speaking of Yoshitoshi, they now have a radio web site called "YoRadio". Most recently they have mixes from Anthony Pappa and the Flash Brothers. Log onto www.YoRadio.com to check this out. Those of you into Twisted Records, log onto their new and improved website www.twistedamerica.com and check out their selection. They list all upcoming releases in conjuntion with Twisted classics that are hard to find. June 17th brings about the release of Peter Rauhofer's Live @ The Roxy 2 with tunes by LuLa, Dark Clark, Moby and Candi Stanton just to name a few. Fresh from my record bag: Sonique's new cut "Can't Make Up My Mind" on Serious Records gives us remixes by Robbie Rivera, Michael Woods, and Platinum Dust. Pitched just right, the Platinum Dust mix is wicked. Mentioned before but worth reminding you about is the BeatFreaker's E.P. entitled "No Way Out". Way hitting on this kids! Humpty Vission presents Elecrik Children release "I Said" on SolMatic Records. The Big Floor Funk mix has been moving the crowd lately. Stereo Records out of Spain hits us big with Amon & Cervino's "Fly" (The Baeleric Mix) and Dippy Site's "Panorama Astratto" (M.A.S. mixes). Both tracks are deep yet carry a trance feel to them. PQM releases "Nameless" on Yoshitoshi. Chab delivers a set of mixes on this song that are very fun. Finally available on vinyl (Fragile Records) is the Flower Power E.P. Both tracks on this E.P., Voices of Africa and Instrumental Drums, are powerful. Onto Reviews:
