Joan Rivers is an internationally renowned comedienne, Emmy-award-winning television talk-show host, Tony-award-nominated actress, bestselling author, playwright, screenwriter, film director, columnist, lecturer, syndicated radio host, jewelry designer, cosmetic-company entrepreneur, and red-carpet fashion laureate. Her continued relevance is made clear by her growing group of almost 2 million followers on Twitter. An entertainment legend of unparalleled talent, Joan was the first woman to break the glass ceiling of Late Night Television. After she was chosen to be the only permanent guest host on The Tonight Show for 3 years, she then went on to become the first woman ever to host her own late night talk show – The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers on the Fox Network.
In 1989, Joan triumphantly returned to daytime TV with The Joan Rivers Show, winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host. Joan continues to enjoy an illustrious career spanning more than five decades. After creating and hosting Live from the Red Carpet for E! (1996-2004), Joan returned to anchor that network's hugely successful franchise Fashion Police, hosting both its hour-long weekly broadcasts and its awards-season specials, reaching more than 10 million people worldwide. Joan has also conquered the reality TV world along with her daughter, Melissa Rivers, in their weekly hit series on WEtv, Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best?. Joan has also broken new ground with her weekly web series, In Bed With Joan, which features intimate interviews with actors, singers and rising comics. Launched in 2013, in its first year alone, In Bed with Joan has already garnered critical acclaim.
Her latest book, "I Hate Everyone...Starting With Me", a New York Times bestseller, was published by the Penguin Group in June 2012. Her next book, "Diary of a Mad Diva" is slated for publication July 2014. Joan's other works include her bestselling autobiographies "Enter Talking and Still Talking", and "Murder at the Academy Awards: A Red Carpet Murder Mystery", a work of fiction. From her trademark question, "Can we talk?," to her red-carpet creation, "Who are you wearing?," the woman who asks all the right questions gets the answers America – and the world – want to hear.
