Chicago, IL - Ya know, my Mamma used to say that if you don't have anything nice to say……….sit your ass over here and tell us all about it. Memories….like the corners of my sketchy mind. The recent warm weather we had brought out all the children of gayland running around looking all young a pretty. It reminded me of days gone by. For example: Do you remember Foxy's? Do you remember Triple A Meat Market? Remember DEEKS? Or how about Cairo and Quench Wednesdays at Shelter? The Loading Dock? The Loading Zone? The L.A. Connection? (or as we so fondly called it The LA Staff Infection) How about The Rear at The Riv? Or Vortex….BEFORE it became that sketchy restaurant with a bar in the back.. For the Latin queens, do you remember the Normandy? Do you remember when Ralphi was a GLEE club resident and Psycho-Bitch played House music DEEP instead of HARD? Do y'all remember when Circuit was a café or when MOM slung shots at the front bar of Roscoe's with DAD? Do you remember when Berlin and Sidetracks were less than ½ their current size….and you still didn't mind going in there? And lastly………..'member THE UNICORN?!?!?!? It goes by a much steamier name now.

The following people are fierce this week, just because we said so: Lisa L, J.J., Lady J, A.K., PDL, Ralphi (he's always fierce), Freddie (ditto), Gino, Daniel T, Jeff W & the other Jeff W, Mike Serafini, and both Gregs - Drescher & Haus. The following people aren't fierce, NOT SO MUCH: ……………..YEA, right! Like the editor would actually let me publish that list. We would lose advertising dollars faster than Bush is loosing allies. Erasure was in town performing a couple of Monday's back. Seems that after the show, The band and their entourage sauntered over to Red Dog's Boom Boom Room and had a cocktail and a chat with MZ Freddie Bain. Freddie, did you get any free records out of the deal? Friday March 7th saw Dave Ralph performing in town. Some of the children of the night reported back that it was alternative and fun. March 11th had Music 101's Familia hosting "Viva Spaniards" with Cedric and Lego at Minx. Estuve mucho pasando alli'!!! Let's chalk one up for the Lesbians! BIG GODDESS NATION, the return of your favorite goddesses, hits Circuit Night Club on March 27- 29th. Also at Circuit on April 19th will be the KINSEY SICKS. They are dubbed as America's favorite dragapella beauty shop quartet. Upon strolling into Marshal Fields State Street back on March 15th, what did MZ Kii Kii Spy? Keith Ware behind the decks playing his heart out! Apparently he escaped his captors at the loony bin and got away long enough to throw down a set for some promotion they were having there. Live MZ Ware! LIVE!!! St. Patty's day saw Greg D up in Milwaukee for a T dance and closing set. Word on the street is that it was quite fun. Even Sauci dipped her head in for support.

Lotsa new stuff coming our way with the warm weather: Dick's Radio Lounge will be opening this month at 2625 N. Halsted St. and promises……of all things…..rock music in the mix. Harry's Velvet Room downtown on Illinois Street has picked up Chicago producer Matt Warren for a Saturday residency. This in conjunction with Jesse De La Pena's Fridays are making Harry's a viable candidate for FUN. The crew from Spundae brought us Danny Howells again on March 15th. Seems they will also be hosting a "Red" party on March 29th with DJ's Woddy McBride (any relation to Tom?) and Brad Owen. Also on the 15th, Tom McBride had the sisters of the Circuit persuasion way living. March 22nd had Greg D doing the same with the Circuit gals. Hugo returns to his thrown at the big C on March 29th too. SmartBar gave us Miles Maeda back on March 22nd to the delight of many. Word is the party was a good mix of boyz and girls. GLAM Sundays go back into operation this month, now with a 4am license at Domaine. Lego will be throwing is down and around at SuperLounge on March 28th for the kids of House persuasion. March 27th kicks off Le Passage's Thursday night called RUSH with "Chick Flick" hosted by Rebekah. Opening DJ for this event is Martin Luna. Chicago's Green Velvet will be at Zentra on March 29th as part of a PURE promotion. Speaking of PURE, they bring us Seb Fontaine on April 4th and Timo Maas on April 25th at the House of Blues. Well, it's time to put on some moisturizer and hit the street while the warm weather lasts. Taa Taa for now, kids!
