Reeling calls for film and video entries for 2014 festival

Chicago, IL - Chicago Filmmakers, the presenting organization of Reeling, the world's second oldest LGBT film festival, has announced dates for the 2014 festival.

Reeling: The Chicago LGBT International Film Festival will screen approximately 75-100 independent films and videos over 8 days, from September 18-25, 2014, a shift from the November dates in 2013.

"We knew you couldn't wait a whole year to see the best in LGBT cinema, so we're bringing Reeling to a theater near you a little early this year," organizers wrote in an promotional email.

From international feature films to social issue documentaries to experimental shorts, Reeling presents a range of genres that demonstrates the rich diversity of work being produced.

The festival is now accepting film and video entries, which will become eligible for audience awards and juried cash awards in the categories of Best Narrative Feature, Best Documentary Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Short, and Best Animated or Experimental Film.

Venues and movies to be screened are expected to be announced later this spring, organizers told ChicagoPride.com.

This is the 32nd year for Reeling, which returned last year after its 2012 hiatus.
