This week Chicago author Jake Biondi is announcing the winners of the national photo contest for his book series "Boystown." The five lucky guys will be featured as one of the story's characters in upcoming publicity for "Boystown," with one winner being announced each day this week.

"As I looked through all the photo submissions, I had certain characters in mind because other characters were already 'covered,'" Biondi explained to ChicagoPride.com, referring to several actors who are helping him bring the series to the television screen.

The first winner is Brad Jan of West Hollywood California, who Biondi has chosen to represent Michael Martinez, the resident hot cop in "Boystown." Jan is one of two grand prize winners and will receive $100 in addition to appearing as Martinez in upcoming promotional material for the series.

"'Boystown' is an outstanding series that appeals to a broad audience," Jan said in a press release from this morning. "I am looking forward to collaborating with Jake Biondi and making BOYSTOWN the huge success it deserves to be... being associated with the character of Michael is cool. He's a total stud, but, more important, he's a great guy -- a cop who truly cares about justice as well as his family."

Biondi says of Jan, "Brad is a great guy who looks exactly how I envisioned the character of Michael when I created him. Like Michael, Brad is an outgoing, caring person who will bring a great deal to the 'Boystown' team."

Set in Chicago's famed gayborhood, "Boystown" is a serial-style novel following the lives of several characters, queer and straight, centered around the three Mancini brothers and their family and friends. Originally released in installments on the internet, Biondi turned the first ten episodes of his saga into a novel last November, with the second installment due out this spring.

Biondi has also been working with friend Aaron Savvy, a fitness guru to the stars and model in Los Angeles, who is helping the author approach producers to consider adapting the Dynasty and Revenge-style serial for television. Along with Savvy, actors Billy Santoro, Boston Miles es and DeMarco Majors are also working with Biondi to help bring "Boystown" to the small screen.

"When Jake reached out to me and said I was the inspiration for the character of Cole in his hit book series 'Boystown,' I was honored," Savvy told ChicagoPride.com, saying he's excited to portray the genuine and sexy blonde who makes his first appearance in bed with the married middle Mancini brother. "I am excited to be on this journey and can't wait to bring the character of Cole to life by playing him in the 'Boystown' television series in the near future."
