Other People's Songs

Champaign, IL - Mute North America is proud to announce the new album by Erasure. Other People’s Songs is the follow up to 2000’s UK import-only album, Loveboat, and features a selection of the duo’s favorite covers from Peter Gabriel, The Righteous Brothers, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and more. The album was recorded over the last year with Gareth Jones, best known for his work with Depeche Mode. The first single is Solsbury Hill which will be released as part of a Maxi CD package on January 14.

Erasure has delivered some of the finest pop music ever over a consistently brilliant career that stretches back over fifteen years. They have enjoyed worldwide success selling over 20 million records. Erasure are not newcomers to the art of the cover version; they've recorded other people's songs in the past, most famously an EP of Abba songs, the chart conquering Abba-esque in 1992. The new album celebrates the duo’s fan-based love of pop and a sincere fascination with the mechanics of songwriting, ensuring that the circle of classic pop continues.
