Macklemore, Ryan Lewis receive 7 Grammy noms, including best song for 'Same Love'

Hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have received 7 Grammy nominations, including best song for the gay marriage anthem Same Love.

Scoring the most nominations was Jay Z with nine. Three artists – Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell Williams – tied Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with seven nominations.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are nominated for best new artist and best rap performance. Their second studio album The Heist is up for album of the year and best rap album. The single Thrift Shop is up for best rap song, while the video for Can't Hold Us is nominated for best music video.

Same Love competes in the Song of the Year category against Just Give Me a Reason (Pink, featuring Nate Ruess), Locked Out of Heaven (Bruno Mars), Roar (Katy Perry) and Royals (Lorde).
