GLAAD to honor Kevin Boyer at Dec. 18 Chicago event

Chicago, IL - The GLAAD Chicago Leadership Council will be hosting their annual holiday reception, "Tis the Season to be GLAAD!" at Downtown Bar and Lounge, 440 N. State., Wed., Dec. 18.

The reception will celebrate a historic year in the LGBT movement and will include a presentation to leading LGBT advocate Kevin Boyer for his long standing service to the LGBT community.

Boyer is the co-founder of the GLAAD Chicago Leadership Council and recently served as a co-chair of the March on Springfield for Marriage Equality in Illinois. Boyer is a marketing and communications professional who has made Chicago his home for the past 25 years.

A longtime advocate, he was the co-founder of the Chicago Area Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, co-founded October as LGBT History Month, is a former board chair of the Gerber/Hart Library, and was the co-VP and CMO of the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago.

A 2008 inductee of the Chicago's Gay & Lesbian Hall of Fame, Boyer has made impact on the LGBT communities in Chicago and in Illinois.

Tickets are $25 and includes cocktails and light appetizers. Special raffle prizes will be featured from Chicago's top restaurants, hotels, and luxury retailers. Sponsored by Ketel One Vodka and Downtown Bar & Lounge, a significant portion of ticket sales supports GLAAD and their mission.
