Chicago, IL - The conservative Roman Catholic group America Needs Fatima asks whether passage of a gay marriage bill in Illinois is to blame for Sunday's severe storms and tornadoes that hit Illinois, killing at least 8, wounding dozens and decimating much of the town of Washington, Illinois.

The group's executive director, Robert Richie, posed the question in a blog post.

"Do you think the massive Illinois tornadoes are linked to the passing of the same sex 'marriage' bill?" Richie asked.

"The massive tornadoes that hit Illinois after the passing of the same sex 'marriage' bill, has stimulated many people to reflection."

"In it, some see God's chastisement; others see it as yet one more merciful warning from Providence; others yet deny both options and give various reasons."

Richie ended with "What do you think?" and a link to an America Needs Fatima article which blames homosexuality for several natural disasters.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is expected to sign the marriage bill into law on Wednesday.
