Chicago, IL -
After an intense ten-day "rehab and refresh" of the space previously operated as Hunters, Phoenix Bar "rises" and opens this Wednesday at 1932 East Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village.
"To say this has been an incredible team effort would be an understatement," said the new bar's General Manager Justin Romme. "Staff members, as well as contractors, have worked tirelessly the past few days. It's a whole new look inside, with new colors, treatments, brand new flatscreens, new water filtration system, new coolers and refrigeration systems. We have a state-of-the-art point of sale system being installed, with a quick and efficient process for cash and credit card sales. We're in the process of replacing the roof as well."
"Our new LED dance floor is about all we're waiting for," Romme added, stating that the $70,000 "virtual flatscreen dance floor" would be installed before Halloween.
Phoenix Bar & Nightclub is owned and operated by the same team that opened the popular Progress Bar in Boystown this past June.
Romme added that while much has changed in the large 6500 square foot space, he is delighted that the vast majority of the previous Hunters' staff is staying on.
"This is a remarkable group of people," he said. "So many customers have contacted us and told us what an asset they are. Working closely with them during this ten day transformation, I couldn't agree more. We've got the best team imaginable going into our opening day Wednesday."
Special activities and themed nights will be added in the coming few weeks, once the bar gets a strong operational footing.
"It's been an incredible journey so far," Romme said, adding that he hoped customers would be a bit patient in the first few days as employees get acclimated to the new point of sale system.
"We can't wait for customers to experience Phoenix Bar."
