Chicago, IL -
Following a successful first year, Gay Chicago TV and ChicagoPride.com have announced a renewed partnership to live stream the 44th Annual Chicago Pride Parade on Sunday, June 30.
"We're proud that we were the first to broadcast the parade from start to finish," said Gay TV On The Go Interactive Director Jhonmar Castillo. "This year we return with increased bandwidth and resources to provide the best possible live viewing experience."
Gay Chicago TV, a trailblazer in original web programming for Chicago's LGBT community, will provide a front row seat to the Chicago Pride Parade with coverage that begins at 12:15 p.m. The parade, which steps off at noon from Broadway and Montrose, will include 204 entries and is expected to draw nearly 850,000 spectators. PRIDEChicago is the official organizer of the parade.
Hosts TJ Chernick and Brian Felder from Gay Chicago TV will be joined by ChicagoPride.com's Bill Pritchard to provide comprehensive coverage and unique commentary during the live stream from Cesar's on Broadway, 2924 N. Broadway. During the live coverage viewers will have an opportunity to submit questions or comments via Twitter using hashtag #chipridelive.
"Our ambitious efforts have informed and engaged Chicago's LGBT community about the issues centered around Pride," said Pritchard. "It is a day of celebration; however, through our commentary we hope to provide valuable information and insight into our community."
The live stream will be available in HD quality picture at GayChicagoTV.com and simulcast on ChicagoPride.com. The coverage of each parade entry from start to finish will also be available for later viewing at GayChicagoTV.com.
Following a successful series of live streams, including Andersonville Midsommarfest, the real time HD stream remains one of the biggest productions for the web-based TV station. The shared coverage continues an alliance between Gay Chicago TV and ChicagoPride.com to transform the new media landscape for Chicago's LGBT community.
