Windy City Times a finalist for 4 Lisagor Awards

Chicago, IL - The annual Chicago Headline Club Peter Lisagor Award finalists have been announced. Chicago's LGBT weekly newspaper Windy City Times has been nominated for four of the prestigious honors.

The winners of the 36th annual awards will be announced this Spring. A wide range of Chicago-area online, print and broadcast media are finalists this year.

The Windy City Times' 8-week Generation Halsted series, an in-depth look at the LGBTQ youth, written primarily by Kate Sosin, Erica Demarest and Bill Healy, is a finalist in the Feature Writing category.

Ross Forman's interview with retired gay football player Esera Tuaolo is a finalist for Sports Story.

And Windy City Times Publisher Tracy Baim is a finalist for writing in two categories: News Column or Commentary (for "In Defense of Cynthia Nixon: Why Born This Way Doesn't Matter") and Editorial Writing ("Journalism 101: The myth of objectivity").
