In the news: The 2012 Democratic National Convention wrapped up last Thursday, Sept. 6 with a speech by President Barack Obama, who accepted his party's nomination. The first Out in the Park gay day was held at Six Flags Great America, Saturday, Sept. 8. The event, which was sponsored by Best Gay Chicago and vitaminwater, brought over 3,500 people to the park specifically for the special LGBT event. And more in this week's Gay Report.

TJ holds a Master's degree in Journalism from DePaul University and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. He has professional experience coordinating international gender projects in Iraq with the International Human Rights Law Institute.
