The Hearty Boys will host six-part cooking series

Chicago, IL - The Food Network has found its next Food Network star and its Chicago’s very own Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh, aka the Hearty Boys. The popular catering duo will star in their own Food Network show.

Each Sunday in June, McDonagh and Smith and the seven other contestants from around the country competed in the national reality show for their own six-part cooking series in "The Next Food Network Star."

Intense trials, which included a series of cooking tasks, whittled the group to two, whose fate was decided by America's viewers.

America picked the local pair, giving them rave reviews.

In addition to their big win and new cooking series, Smith and McDonagh recently opened their own signature restaurant "HB,” in early June.

HB is a spin-off of Hearty Boys Catering and Café. Located in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood at 3404 N. Halsted, dinner service is available Tues. through Sun from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and weekend brunch is served Sat. and Sun from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are accepted at 773.661.0299.
