H.I.M. Corp’s Gay Market Guide Offers Groudbreaking Expertise

Los Angeles, CA - Packed full of contributions and expert observation from the nation’s leading marketing experts, Hyperion Interactive Media (H.I.M. Corp) has published the Gay Market Guide 2005, the first book of its kind to analyze the gay publishing and advertising market.

More than 1,000 copies have been pre-sold, with banks, visitors and convention bureaus and hotels among the national companies pre-ordering copies.

The Gay Market Guide 2005 touches on travel, sports, marriage and business. The guide offers tips specific toward marketing to different ethnic groups and advice on niche communities, including circuit parties, country western/rural and the leather community.

As the CEO of H.I.M. Corp., Skallerud and his company have been connecting businesses with the gay and lesbian marketplace for more than a decade. H.I.M. Corp’s business network includes three large web portals, multiple niche web sites, several print publications, a content syndication service and a media buying firm. HIM Corp. reaches almost nine million gay men and lesbians worldwide.

“As we worked with more and more clients trying to reach the gay & lesbian marketplace, we realized there was a strong interest out there to understand the various opportunities available to them,” Skallerud said. “We would help educate them as best we could, but we soon realized that a guide such as this might be the best way to keep clients informed on up-to-date opportunities and trends in the gay & lesbian community. A second edition of the Gay Market Guide 2005 is planned for release in July for ad agencies and media buyers who learn of the guide through the initial print run.
