Circuit 2.0: Optimized, Enhanced, Anticipated

Chicago, IL - After enduring battles over noise levels, a threat of a dry precinct vote, and six months of renovations, Halsted's largest dance club is poised to reopen March 12th as a new and improved gathering place for Chicago's GLBT and the greater dance community.

The new Circuit, described as "Boystown meets downtown," was created by Spiff Designs in conjunction with Architecture Chicago. The look is an up-to-the-minute, retro-mod design featuring espresso colored woods, glass tiles, 3-D glitter effect flooring, multiple lounge seating areas and an enlarged dance floor. Extensive sound-proofing has allowed a state-of-the-art digital JBL sound system, from New York's famed Twilo Nightclub, complimented by over $200,000 in new dance floor lighting.

Mike Macharello, Circuit co-owner, says, "It feels like an eternity since Circuit closed for remodeling, but trust me, it will be worth the wait! We have listened to suggestions from our websites message board, and we feel our customers will be very pleased."

Macharello's business partner, Patrick Harms, says, "We are indebted to Bill Greaves, the GLBT liaison to the Mayor's office and Alderman Helen Shiller. Both have been extremely helpful in mediating the communication process between Circuit and the various city departments. The Building Department, Liquor Commission and Department of Environments have all been instrumental in helping facilitate a prompt renovation process and reopening. We are very grateful."

The Grand Opening

The March 12th Grand Opening Event will feature producer/remixer/DJ Alex Perez along with Circuit resident Dani B. (X-site) and headliner Mathew Harvat (a.k.a Circuit Mom). Hosted by Miss Foozie and Door by the legendary Byrd Bardot.
