Salt Lake City, Utah -
Forget San Francisco, West Hollywood and even Boystown Chicago. A new list in The Advocate claims that the gayest city in the United States is Salt Lake City.
The Advocate's 2012 list kicked out the obvious choices (like New York City and Los Angeles) and ranked the remaining cities on things like number of LGBT elected officials, presence of a WNBA team, Gay World Series softball teams, LGBT bookstores and Mr. Leather Semifinalists.
And go figure: "[In Salt Lake,] there are more than a half-dozen hot spots for men and women, including the eco-friendly nightclub Jam (JamSLC.com). The Coffee Garden (878 South 900 East) is a gathering spot for those looking for a caffeine fix, the Sundance Film Festival brings LGBT film buffs to screenings downtown, and lesbian-owned Meditrina (MeditrinaSLC.com) is a true wine bar — yes, you can get a drink in this town."
Here's the full list:

3. Cambridge, Massachusetts
4. Fort Lauderdale, Florida
