Caseyville, Ill. - Perry County (Illinois) Sheriff Keith Kellerman was arrested for public indecency on Friday morning when he was found in a car making out with another man.

The Belleville News-Democrat reported that the two men were in a car under a streetlight near the "Welcome to Caseyville" sign. Caseyville is 12 miles east of St. Louis.

The police report said that both men were drunk.

"When asked why they were engaging in such activities in a public area and not in the confines of their homes, J. Ian Stennett, 31, said, 'Two guys don't usually do this kind of stuff at home,'" the police report said.

Kellerman was first elected sheriff in 1998 and has held the post ever since.

There were no details provided as to whether straight couples were arrested on Friday morning as well, or whether the "indecency" law is applied to equally to all parties.
