Chicago, IL -
The night before Thanksgiving is considered one of the biggest party nights out of the year, so much so that the night is often referred to as Black Wednesday.
Many Boystown bar owners say the night often rivals New Year's Eve and St. Patrick's Day as popular party nights.
"From a business perspective, we were about quadruple a normal Wednesday," said Scarlet owner Paul Cannella. Scarlet threw a special Black Light Party on Wednesday.
The pre-holiday revelry is especially popular for young college students who return home to meet-up with old friends.
"It's the perfect mix of regular customers and holiday visitors all looking to have a few drinks and have a lot of fun before getting stuffed," said Roscoe's promotion and marketing manager Shawn Hazen.
