Not Your Grandfather's Car Radio

Schaumburg, IL - Like all good radios, it plays music. But unlike most of them, the voice-activated iRadio, also gives up-to-the-second information on traffic conditions and can even pinpoint the car's location and ask for help if there is an accident. Oh, and about that music? You can tell it what you want to listen to.

The iRadio, the hottest thing in car information and entertainment, is an in-vehicle device which gives driver safety and security, dynamic navigation, on demand audio content, and e-commerce capabilities and the driver's hands never have to leave the steering wheel.

Dynamic navigation means that the satellite system is connected to a live center, not a memory and that means drivers are kept up to date on traffic conditions. And if the driver is in an accident, it knows where the vehicle is and will send help. Clearly, this is not your grandfather's car radio

Like cable subscriptions, iRadio service will come in various levels, from basic on up, it will become available in many cars come 2003.
