Waiting Until Summer for Vacation Not the Best Strategy This Year

San Francisco, CA - The best travel deals this year come to those who don't wait -- for summer, that is, according to discount travel site Hotwire.com.

A recent report by PricewaterhouseCoopers predicts that more Americans
will be traveling this summer than in years past. This increase in demand is already sending up airfare prices for the peak summer travel period in late June, July and August. The key to scoring a great deal? Take your summer trip early - before the big crush.

"We're seeing very good last-minute domestic airfare deals and generally great pricing on air through mid-June," said Gregg Brockway, Hotwire's chief product officer.

"After that, prices go up due to unusually strong demand this year. We advise traveling early for the best deals."
