Sydney native, DJ Dan Slater makes his first Chicago appearance in 2025 on Saturday, March 22

DJ Dan Slater makes his first appearance in 2025 at Hydrate Nightclub in Chicago on Saturday, March 22, bringing his popular beats and sculpted physique.

“Returning to Chicago feels like a homecoming … the energy of the city, especially during events like Market Days, is unparalleled. I have so many memories tied to this city, and I always look forward to reconnecting with friends and the incredible crowd here,” Slater said.

He last was in Chicago in December 2024, DJing at Hydrate just before Christmas. “This venue holds a special place in my heart, and it was wonderful to feel the love and energy from the crowd once again,” Slater said.

The Australian DJ and producer, now based in the U.S., delivers a high-energy, six-hour this Saturday, starting at 11 p.m.

“I've got some fresh tracks from Samantha Jade, Jelly Roll, Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, G-Precious & Velvet Code and GSP & Brian Justin Crum, and a few surprises up my sleeve to make this performance unforgettable,” Slater said. “My goal is to create an experience where everyone feels connected and uplifted.

“DJing in Chicago is about so much more than just playing music; it’s about connecting with a community that truly appreciates me. It’s a city rich in musical history and culture, and being part of that legacy is incredibly meaningful to me. The Chicago crowds are some of the most passionate and energetic I’ve ever encountered; it's one of my favorite places to DJ. They know how to have a good time and really feed off the energy of the music. There’s an excitement that makes every performance feel electric.”

Slater said every Chicago show teaches him something new. “The audience reactions help me refine my skills and adapt my sets in real-time. The feedback is immediate, and it pushes me to explore new musical territories and take creative risks,” he said.

After Chicago, Slater heads to Detroit as he is the Marketing and Entertainment Director for Arcenciel Detroit, a luxe LGBTQ+ nightclub, bar and full-service restaurant. Then he’s taking two weeks off.

“I'm fully booked out until January 2026. I’m gearing up for three Atlantis events, WorldPride in Washington D.C. and Circuit Festival in Barcelona. I have several other incredible gigs lined up too, and I can’t wait to share my music with fans around the globe,” Slater said.

Slater said that, despite multiple Chicago visits, he said he’s looking forward to trying new local restaurants … and hopefully finding a hidden gem.

“I’d just like to express my appreciation for everyone who comes out to support live music, especially in Chicago. It’s the energy and love from the crowd that makes it all worthwhile. I encourage everyone to keep dancing now with Dan Slater,” he said.
