Throb, the all-male revue that features various Midwest performers, returns to
Hydrate Nightclub in Lakeview on Saturday, December 7. Entertainers will include burlesque performers, dancers, pole artists, musicians and more.
The show is co-hosted by Jacques Infiniti-Hall and Jahnathan Lind and is inspired by Janet Jackson’s hit song ‘Throb.’ The night will feature experienced entertainers, plus new and upcoming talent. “Throb (will) take you for a ride of pure sexiness,” Lind said.
Lind, 31, who lives on the west side of Chicago, is an artist/entrepreneur – and the producer/co-host of Throb. Lind, in late-2023, was offered a role as Rocky in The Rocky Horror Picture Pop Up Show at the now-closed, Raven Room. He was presented with the opportunity to produce and host an all-male revue after performing (as Rocky) for a week, he said. Lind also has appeared on WGN’s ‘Daytime Chicago.’
“The main highlight of (Throb) is a stage pole, front and center. I am a self-trained pole dancer and Throb’s stage celebrates the beauty of the craft. Local Chicago music talent is also represented,” Lind said.
Throb last March featured Chicago’s upcoming artist Jaysanity.
Throb’s successful debut show in December 2023 led to a monthly gig at Hydrate.
Throb has spotlighted performers from Chicago, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.
“Throb shows are always packed and intimate,” Lind said. “VIP front stage seating is available for guests who want a close-up experience with the Throb performers. Tables are sold out at every Throb show.
“Throb was created so male performers can entertain and grace the same stages that their drag counterparts do. A show produced and hosted by POC male entertainers, giving other male presenting performers those opportunities.”
Each performer at Throb is selected based on talent, presentation and if they ‘fit’ the vibe of the show. Each month there is a new roster of performers.
Prizes will be awarded in December from A Sigh of Relief and PRDGY Designs.
“Throb has received positive reviews from guests and staff of the venues we’ve hosted at. Throb is young, edgy and coveted. We’re still a fresh show, but definitely worth the visit.
Throb features a special part to the show, the ‘Siren of the Night,’ a trans femme performer, and a risqué performance.
“Throb is lush, rich in performance, authentic and seductive,” Lind said.
Throw will spotlight two resident dancers from Hydrate Nightclub: Lio King, a popular Vietnamese circuit party dancer with skills on the pole, and French pole dancer Tim Rixo, a licensed massage therapist who also performs. Also set to appear: James Glamonster, one of Chicago’s top burlesque artists.
“This (upcoming) Throb will be bigger and better,” Lind said. “Every night at Throb grows in audience, surprises and entertainment.”
