50 Cent, also known as Curtis James Jackson III, is defending controversial remarks he made about oral sex over Twitter.

"If you a man and your over 25 and you don't eat pu**y just kill your self damn it. The world will be a better place. Lol," he tweeted on Wednesday to his 3.3 million followers.

Even if he just meant to encourage straight men to give oral, his statement offended many considering the recent gay teen suicide at Rutgers, one of four similar tragedies within a month.

Truth Wins Out, a non-profit organization that fights anti-LGBT religious extremism, had issued a release, asking 50 Cent to clarify his remarks. According to a subsequent item issued by Truth Wins Out, the rapper later tweeted, "The other night I made a joke about a blow job. My male followers enjoyed it. So I then went on to joke about women receiving the same....Some how they turned a simple joke about oral sex into a anti gay statement. I have nothing against people who choose [ an ] alternative life [ style ] . [ I ] n fact, [ I've ] publicly stated my mom loved women. It [ 's ] funny how people think negative statements are news worthy but positive statements are not worthy of coverage."

Truth Wins Out added in its second release, "It is great that he responded and that his Tweet was not anti-gay. Given the heartbreaking week of LGBT youth suicides—now up to 5—the last thing that was needed was a star encouraging LGBT people taking their own lives. So, his latest Tweet is a relief."

50 Cent, who is a spokesman for Vitamin Water, has made homophobic comments in the past. In 2005 he said: "Being gay isn't cool – it's not what the music is based on. There's always been conflict at the centre of hip-hop, because it's all about which guy has the competitive edge, and you can't be that aggressive if you're gay."

GLAAD called for 50 Cent to retract an anti-gay tweet from September which read, "Perez Hilton called me a douchebag so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. Wasn't his but still made me feel better."

He later removed the tweet.
