DJ Sean Parks is set to bring the IML energy

Chicago-based DJs Janky and Sean Parks will be joined by Houston hottie Marti Friesen for a 3-way musical masterpiece at the annual Victory Party of IML, presented by CircuitMOM Productions, on Sunday night, May 28, at the House of Blues (329 N. Dearborn) in downtown Chicago.

“I’ve always been drawn to (the) IML energy, so participating in this event is stimulating,” Parks said.

The annual International Mr. Leather weekend, May 25-29, rolls into the Congress Plaza Hotel (520 S. Michigan Avenue) for kink, creative and so much more. Parks tagged IML as “playful, kinky and sassy.”

Parks, 38, lives near Hollywood Beach on Chicago’s north side. He purchased his first set of belt drive turntables when he was 15. He now plays the Arbella (112 W. Grand Avenue) regularly and has for years.

Parks’ DJ resume also includes opening Queen! at SmartBar during Chicago Pride 2022 and “the club had a special vibe that night,” he said.

He also once spun all vinyl at a downtown rooftop garden for a friend’s birthday party. “There’s’ something unique about spinning Chicago house music with a view of the skyline,” he added.

The sounds from Parks also resonated through Wisdome in Los Angeles, the first and largest immersive art and music dome park. Parks praised “the experience of the people, the sound, aesthetics and visuals in the dome (were) spiritual.”
