Pro-gay Pete Wentz and wife Ashlee Simpson are catching some flak for shopping at a Target as the boycott of the Minneapolis-based retailer continues.
The couple were spotted buying toys for their one-year-old son, Bronx, over the weekend at a Hollywood-area Target, according to E! Online.
All eyes remain on Target and Best Buy after both companies gave money to a right-wing political action committee (PAC) known as Minnesota Forward, which in turn bought television ads for Minnesota Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer.
Emmer is seen as a social conservative and opposes same-sex marriage.
HRC, the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, held closed door meetings with Target, which later stated that it would take no corrective actions to repair the harm caused by the contribution.
MoveOn.org later called for a boycott of Target saying "democracy is not for sale."
Target's campaign donation is one of the first to gain national attention since a recent Supreme Court decision to allow corporations world-wide to limitless contributions to American election campaigns.
Political analysts say Target's experience will most-likely cause corporations to think twice before contributing to political campaigns in the future.
As for their part, a Wentz rep did not immediately comment.
