Profile: DJ Greg Drescher

Born and bred on the East Coast, DJ Greg Drescher’s musical style derives from his early days in the clubs of New York and more recent years in Chicago. The influence of both cities can be heard in Greg’s music, blending progressive house, sultry vocals, circuit anthems and hard-hitting tribal beats. His passion for music is apparent in every set, taking the dance floor on a journey and maintaining a constant energy so that each event has a smooth flow from beginning to end. A Harvard graduate and attorney by day, Greg jumpstarted his career as a professional DJ by spinning several events at the legendary Crobar Nightclub in Chicago. Since then, he became acclimated to the Chicago scene by spinning in several clubs, including Excalibur, Circuit, Berlin, Felt, Kustom, Atmosphere & Domaine. Greg’s talent has been requested by some of the top DJ’s, promoters and production companies in the industry. He opened for Tracy Young, Tony Moran, Manny Lehman, David Knapp and Roland Belmares, in addition to working with Paolo Pincente, CircuitMom Productions and PDL Productions. The Hearts Foundation selected Greg to spin several of their events, including Refuel 2002 (opener for Tracy Young), Fireball 2003 - Closing Party VIP Room, and Chicago Pride 2003 – Rejoice (w/Barry Harris). Greg currently holds a weekly residency at Crobar, is Music Editor for ChicagoPride.com, and is involved with Tracy Young’s new label, Ferosh Records… and this is only the beginning. Greg recently returned from Tel Aviv where his set was well-received and he will launch into the national scene by starting off Fireball 2004, opening for Tracy Young at the Aragon Ballroom.
