Ugly Betty star Christopher Gorham is speaking out on marriage equality.

Gorham, who played Henry, Betty's main love interest, on the ABC comedy Ugly Betty, talked to gay entertainment website AfterElton.com about appearing in the NOH8 campaign that opposes California's gay marriage ban, Proposition 8.

Gorham and wife Anel Lopez were photographed along with their three children. In the portrait, sons Lucas and Ethan join their parents in having their mouths duct taped and "NOH8" written on one cheek, while baby daughter Alondra is seen being held by her father.

"They approached me," Gorham said, "and when I told my wife, she was the one who said, 'We are doing this [as a family].' We're big supporters, we have lots of friends who are gay. And we're an inter-racial couple. It wasn't that long ago that it was illegal for us to marry. So we're huge supporters of the right to marry."

The 35-year-old Gorham returned to television last month as the star of USA Network's spy series Covert Affairs.

"It's a really fun action drama about the CIA about what it's like when the real life and your work life intersects," Gorham said. "I play Auggie Anderson, who's a [blind] ex-special forces officer who's now in tech ops at the CIA."

Proposition 8 was declared unconstitutional by a federal judge on Wednesday.
