Vaccination proof and masks required: ‘We ask that you respect this mandate, and extend that respect and understanding to our staff members enforcing this mandate inside the space.’

Berlin Nightclub is set to finally reopen, having been closed since the pandemic began. It was originally set to open August 5 ahead of Northalsted Market Days weekend. It is now opening August 26.

The 'Welcome Home' reopening party on Thursday starts at 10 p.m. with DJ sets from Greg Haus and Club Chow.

Returning to the stage are Berlin staples Jo Mama, Maureen San Diego, Miss Toto, and Travis Fiero.

Patrons will be required to provide an original copy or photo of their vaccination card, or online proof like Illinois Department of Public Health's Vax Verify or CVS and Walgreens' apps, to enter. Staff will check for vaccination proof at the door when checking photo ID cards.

“We are requiring all employees, performers, and patrons to be fully vaccinated (2 weeks post-vaccination) to enter our space,” the owners said.

Under mandate by the Chicago Department of Public Health, masks are again required in all indoor spaces, including nightclubs.

“Masks can be removed only when drinking and must promptly be put back on in-between sips,” the owners said. “We ask that you respect this mandate, and extend that respect and understanding to our staff members enforcing this mandate inside the space.”

Berlin, 954 W. Belmont, remains a popular pan-cultural, late-night music and art club since 1983. Located just off the busy N. Halsted St. corridor popularly known as “Boystown,” the nightclub is known for its inclusivity as shown by its diverse crowd, specifically dance-worthy music, and extravagant drag shows.
