Chicago, IL - The Chicago Park District has issued a swim advisory for Sunday at 10 area beaches on Lake Michigan, according to the agency's Web site.

The advisory is for Calumet, Rainbow, South Shore, 63rd Street, 12th Street, Oak Street, Montrose, Foster, Hartigan and Jarvis Beaches.

According to the park district:

"If there is a swim advisory, you can swim in the water but should be careful when doing so. A swim advisory is in effect when certain conditions require that caution should be exercised when swimming. These include weather patterns or water conditions. Monitor the flag color and follow lifeguards' instructions if asked to get out of the water."

A yellow flag at the beach indicates a swim advisory is in effect.
