Curaleaf cannabis dispensary in Skokie is celebrating Pride on Friday, June 25 with entertainment and fun.

The architecturally dynamic dispensary—featuring a façade that looks like a massive sweeping white curtain covering an old 1956 building—is at 1000 Skokie Blvd. in the Village of Skokie. It is across the street from Old Orchard Mall.

“We'll have a Pride playlist curated by local Chicago Drag Royalty, Lucy Stoole,” the marijuana shop announced. “And a pop-up from our friends at Select from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.”

Select is one of the largest brands of cannabis oil sold in the U.S.

There will also be a performance from 3:30 to 5 p.m. featuring a star from Illusions the Drag Queen Show.

Illusions is a national drag queen and burlesque repertory with a presence in Chicago, Aurora, Joliet, and Springfield.

“The great vibes will be on all day as we raise funds for the OnePulse Foundation,” organizers said.

OnePulse is currently raising funds for the construction of the Pulse Memorial—site of the June 12, 2016 Pulse nighclub massacre in Orlando, Fla.

As a dispensary, only those 21 years old and older can enter with a photo ID. Face masks are required inside the store.

Curaleaf Skokie also carries the Good News brand of Pride Edition gummies and vapes. Good News is commercial label of cannabis grower Cresco Labs, 400 W. Erie St.

Wakefield, Mass.-based Curaleaf is a cannabis company founded by billionaire Boris Jordan. It grows and sells cannabis products throughout the U.S. and Canada.

As of 2020, Curaleaf is the largest cannabis company in the world and is listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange—the Toronto-based stock exchange.
