Considered an LGBTQ hotspot by GoPride.com—with high traffic of LGBTQ patrons—Glenwood Sunday Market (GSM) in Rogers Park announced it has the green light to open for the summer farmers market season.

It will be open every Sunday from June 6 to October 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It was absent in 2020 as the pandemic hit Chicago hard.

The event along 1233 to 1241 W. Pratt Ave. will require social distancing and face coverings—despite any guidance issued by the Illinois and Chicago health departments.

“Face coverings must be worn by staff, vendors, volunteers and customers until further notice as [the farmer's market] staff is not at a capacity to check individual's vaccination status,” Rogers Park Business Alliance said.

“If you do not have a face covering, GSM will provide you with a disposable face mask,” they continued.

“If you are unable to wear a mask due to a health condition or other reason, let us know and we will provide a volunteer shopper for you.”

Vendor and market stalls will be sanitized throughout the day.

There will be one-way traffic for the entire farmer's market.

“Foot traffic through the market area will be one-way and customers may not re-trace their steps. Once customers begin to walk through the market area, they must proceed forward following pathway guidelines. Shoppers can circle back through the walk path should they desire to do so.”

Rogers Park Business Alliance approves the vendor list, hoping to highlight local farmers and food artisans.

They include Bay Port Fish Company, Bennison's Bakery (famous for their fresh baked award-winning croissants), Katherine Anne Confections (popular for their chocolate selections), Mickii's Desserts (featuring cookies and cobblers), Mindful Baking (known for gluten-free and vegan desserts), pHlour Bakery (which recently took over the space at 1138 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.), Stamper Cheese (which makes Chipotle Espresso Cheddar among others), Phoenix Bean Tofu, That Pickly Guy, Urban Tables (which sells savory foods and desserts).

Produce is popular with any farmer's market.

Customers can find fresh fruits and vegetables from Blacksmith Acres Farm, Finn's Steak and Egg Ranch, Hardin's Family Farm, Katherine Anne Confections, Lyons Fruit Farm, Mike and Clare's Farm, Milwaukee Homegrown, Patyk Farms, River Valley Ranch, The Urban Canopy, and Vangies Farm.
