KALANI Resort, "heaven on earth," is located on the lush, tropical southeast coast of Hawai'i, the Aloha State's "Big Island." KALANI uniquely celebrates nature, culture and wellness by providing a variety of eco-adventures, events and comfortable accommodations. Located an easy distance from the Hilo Airport - it is miles from the ordinary.
Kalani is located right in front of the Pacific Ocean on 113 acres. Nearby is a rare black sands beach where turtles and dolphins frequent. Lounge, splash, meet the exotic birds, dolphins and people who visit this beautiful (suit optional) beach.
Generally sunny days, light breezes and mild 60-80 degree temperatures (year-round) create the exotic tropical beauty of Hawaii's southeast coast. The sea-cliffs of the Kalani coastal area provide for close-up views of turtles, dolphins and migrating whales. On a warm, sunny day it is possible to see as many as 50 spinner dolphins along the coast or at the nearby black sand beach. On great days the dolphins hang out for hours.
Our 25 meter Olympic pool has lap lanes, a deep section, and a new Watsu therapy pool (for floating shiatsu). The Rainbow Assembly Room is 3,000 sq. ft with a suspended wood floor - great for groups, yoga, dance and tai chi classes.A Reading Room, Weight Room, Cafe-Lounge, Volleyball, Tennis, and Basketball courts, and variety of activities and games are also provided.
The covered Dining Lanai provides expansive views of Kalani's landscaped lawns, gardens and orchards. Each of three Hale (lodges) is 4,000 sq. ft. and each has eight comfortable bed rooms, four bath rooms, a refreshment-lounge area and a 1,000 sq. ft. suspended wood floor studio with expansive views towards botanical lawns, the pool and ocean. Each of eight cottage units includes a bedroom, bath (toilet plus shower) and sitting room with table and couch that can be made into an additional queen bed. Units are 325 sq. ft. with vistas hovering over horses in pasture and coastal mahogany trees.
Our four Tree House units have similar vistas, full baths, king beds, and each is a generous 500 sq. ft.
KALANI Cuisine is a heavenly experience, to live for! In addition to our alfresco dining lanai, special occasions are graced by lawn and oceanside settings . Vegetarian and vegan options are always available. Relish our locally grown organic produce and fresh catch from the sea, served daily.
