Barlesque 6, a sexy, online, burlesque-style, fundraising event benefiting Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN), raised more than $57,570.
17 local businesses participated to see which of their contestants would be crowned "Chicago's Sexiest." As people donated money online, the contestants' photos reflected their various stages of undress.
Kyle Krietemeyer, representing ProgressBar, raised $10,826 to become "Chicago's Sexiest." Runner-up Arben Dauti Alper, representing Jackhammer, raised $8,519.77. Second runner-up Kyle Rogers, representing Club Krave, raised $7,628.
Since its inception in 2009, Barlesque has raised over $120,000
The money raised from the Barlesque competition will go directly to TPAN's programs that supply free HIV testing, counseling, needle exchange, condoms, prevention outreach, education for the newly diagnosed, adherance programs for the long term positive, housing assistance, and medical case management on Chicago's North and South sides.
