World of Chocolate returns with a sweet spot in Ravenswood

One of Chicago's most prominent galas, World of Chocolate, returned on February 27, 2026, after a 2025 hiatus. This large-scale charity event was held at Artifact Events on Ravenswood Avenue to assist in funding the non-profit organization AIDS Foundation of Chicago, located at 200 West Monroe Street.

VIP doors opened at 5:30 p.m. and general admission tickets were welcomed at 6 p.m. For over three hours, guests were treated to creations from over 14 different chefs from various hotels, bakeries and restaurants.

Some sampling standouts included Amy's Candy Bar, Swissôtel Chicago and Vanille Patisserie. Shana Taveras of Blackout Baking Co. showcased a mountain of cookies for people to enjoy. The staff also passed out finger foods on two different floors in the spacious venue.

Local judges were tapped to decide which competitor would be awarded in four different categories of sweet, savory, libation and People's Choice.

Guests could partake in an open bar, which offered specialty cocktails, and Chef Enrique Cortes presented 4 Armas Mezcal from central Mexico.

Upbeat tunes were provided by DJ Onwa and programming included dynamic drag performances from Haus of Paint.

One important draw from this donation drive was the continued creative ways the organization invents to appeal for funds.

The Punchboard returned to the World of Chocolate once again, where attendees could punch a number for a special mystery prize. A balloon drop offered opportunities to write a dedication to loved ones and some chose to paint the Chicago skyline on an art installation led by local artist Emma Lyons.

Following the festivities on Ravenswood, an after-party was held at Nobody's Darling: Cocktail Bar on Balmoral Avenue.

This epic chocolate event has raised more than $7 million for people affected by the human immunodeficiency virus and there's still time to donate at aidschicago.org.
