Suenos prepares to make May dreams come true

Chicago's concert festival season is quickly ramping up and a welcome return to the scene is Suenos on May 27 and 28, 2023. First held in 2022 on the grounds surrounding Grant Park, similar to Lollapalooza, Latin music fans came out in large numbers to the tune of approximately 80,000 people.

The lineup of artists is always crucial to any outdoor festival and the first year was focused on reggaeton and global performers capitalizing on the popularity of hitmakers like J Calvin, Ozuna and Jhay Cortez.

For 2023 Wisin y Yandel, El Alfa and Myke Towers have returned accompanied by some important additions such as Nicky Jam and Feid. There's gay representation within Grupo Firme's member Johnny Caz and female representation including Becky G and Ivy Queen, among others.

Expect local food vendors to bring supplies to feed hungry fans over the course of two days and multiple bars will be staffed onsite for celebratory beverages. Take home souvenirs too as a merchandise booth will be packed with t-shirts and memorabilia and there is even a Ferris wheel to take a spin on.

The Rock & Recycle program, which is also quite popular during Lollapalooza, allows guests to bag up discarded recyclable items in designated bags in exchange for a t-shirt.

C3 Presents and La Familia Presenta kicked off the festivities with a press conference at Instituto Cervantes on Ohio Street. Attendees sampled a preview of cuisine and drinks before a press conference to discuss the economic impact of the past year with Suenos. In its inaugural year, the music festival generated $1.1 million in amusement tax revenue and supported 980 full-time jobs.

Guests and members of the media were treated to information on upcoming plans and a special dance performance. The fiesta is just beginning and this two day party promises to be unforgettable!
