The Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo returned to McCormick Place on August 5, 6 and 7. The focus for this comic book convention is on the costumes and the C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay were bigger than ever.

First Place of Pro of Pros And Cons Cosplay went to Nikki in a Mystical Tarot Chariot Dress. Second place of Paisely and Glue Cosplay was awarded to Rococo Winifred Sanderson and third place landed on Searin Cosplay for Game of Thrones character Arya Stark.

Many posed for photos by the entrance in front of massive C2E2 Letters before showing badges at the security. The vendor booths filled the space and gave attendees plenty to do.

People from various walks of life all came together in one large area to celebrate the things that make them different and unique. Costumes ranged from Stranger Things inspirations to every superhero one can imagine and even a few supervillains.

It was also an opportunity to meet artists and performers for the right price.

The roster changed a bit with actress Rosario Dawson added to the schedule closer to the opening date. Her role as Ahsoka Tano in Disney+'s The Mandolorian has cemented her into the Star Wars franchise with a new solo series set for the future.

There was a strong presence of out-of-this-world talent in 2022 with the iconic Billy Dee Williams on hand to meet fans. He was accompanied by Jabba the Hutt puppeteer Dave Barclay and Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi's Moses Ingram.

With so many spinoffs including several cartoon versions of George Lucas' legacy, there is no end to the war in sight!

There is a Popverse membership available to keep up with all the yearly festivities with first access to photo opportunities and autographs.

There is something for everyone at C2E2 and this was a welcome return to a well-organized and modern convention for patrons of all ages.

Video game players, a family section and much more were all part of the fun. On-the-spot artists could custom-make commissioned creations and then a tattoo artist could carve it right on a person's body all under one roof!

The merchandise offered was sometimes one of a kind and well worth the price of admission. This was a weekend full of experiences not easily forgotten to make memories that may last a lifetime for many!

C2E2 soars back into Chicago this time from March 31- April 2, 2023. Stay tuned, true believers to
